The rear of the Commander is expected to have a more straight-up stance to make for more headroom and legroom for passengers sitting in the third row. With the upright design, the seats can be pushed further back to seat most adults in the last row of seats. Whether the design will compromise on the boot space, remains to be seen.

However, according to the report, the company will retune the engine to produce 200bhp with top-spec variants featuring all-wheel-drive systems. The report from the media publication also suggests that Commander might not be the name of the upcoming SUV in the Indian market. The name 'Commnader' was previously used and registered in the Indian market by Mahindra. As a result, Jeep could use a different name for the upcoming three-row SUV just for the Indian market, based on the sour history between both brands.
