Isuzu MU-X, D-Max V-Cross & Hi-Lander BS6 Cars Expected To Launch Next Week: Details
Isuzu Motors India will be launching a couple of BS6 models after being absent in passenger vehicle space in the country. This includes the MU-X, the D-Max V-Cross and the Hi-Lander. According to the latest reports, the company is expected to launch all these models on May 10, 2021.
Starting off with the MU-X, the company will be bringing back the three-row premium SUV offering in the country. The BS6 MU-X will be similar in terms of design and features to its BS4 counterpart.
The Isuzu MU-X facelift was available in two variants: 4x2 and 4x4. Both variants are expected to be introduced in the BS6 format of the SUV as well. The Isuzu MU-X was powered by the 3.0-litre four-cylinder, diesel engine that produced 174bhp and 380Nm of torque. The engine is came mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with 4X4 and low-range mechanicals in place.
We expect the BS6 SUV to carry the same powertrain setup along with similar power figures. Alternatively, it could also feature the 1.9-litre diesel engine mated to an automatic powertrain from the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
Speaking of the D-Max V-Cross pick-up truck, it is also due for the BS6 update. The company will also be launching the BS6 V-Cross D-Max along with the new entry-level Hi-Lander variant making its debut in the BS6 format.
The top-spec D-Max V-Cross is expected to be offered with a 1.9-litre engine as standard. On the other hand, the Hi-Lander variant could feature the lower-spec 2.5-litre equipped powertrain.
The 1.9-litre unit produces a maximum of 161bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The pick-up is expected to be offered in both 2WD and 4WD options.
While the 2.5-litre engine was only offered with a five-speed manual gearbox. The powertrain produced 135bhp and 320Nm of torque — 26bhp and 30Nm of torque lesser than the top-spec unit.
Speaking about the design, the BS6 D-Max V-Cross does not feature any major design changes from its BS4 counterpart. The pick-up will continue to feature roof rails, projector headlamps, side-step, a drop-down tailgate, external rear-view mirrors, front and rear bumpers, a scuff plate at either end and a chrome-finished grille; among others.
The interiors of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross revealed from the images does not point to any changes from the BS4 model. However, it could undergo subtle revisions to enhance the premium feel of the cabin.
Thoughts About The Isuzu MU-X, D-Max V-Cross & Hi-Lander BS6 Cars Launching Next Week
Isuzu Motor India has finally decided to launch the much-awaited passenger vehicles line-up. The D-Max V-Cross and the Hi-Lander will be the only two pick-up truck offering when launched in the country. While the MU-X will rival the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.
