Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6 Teased Ahead Of India Launch: The Most-Awaited Pick-Up Is Almost Here!

Isuzu Motor India has teased the D-Max V-Cross BS6 ahead of its launch in the Indian market. The teaser image of the upcoming pick-up has been released on the brand's website and across its social media handles.

The teaser image quotes "Do You Have It In You To Win The 2021 V-Cross?" However, the teaser image redirects to the model page which also states "Be Prepared to Experience V-Cross and Hi-Lander".

The company has updated its commercial line-up to meet new emission norms. However, the pick-up SUV is yet to received the BS6 updated from the brand and has not been on sale for over a year.

Starting with the changes made under the bonnet, the pick-up truck will carry forward the same set of engine options offered in the BS4 era. This includes the 1.9-litre diesel unit and the 2.5-litre diesel unit.

The top-spec variant of the pick-up called the Z Prestige was offered with the 1.9-litre diesel engine. It produces a maximum of 148bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

However, other variants of the pick-up were offered with a lower-spec 2.5-litre diesel unit. The powertrain produced 135bhp and 320Nm of torque — 13bhp and 30Nm of torque lesser than the top-spec unit.

Both the powertrains were offered with a selectable four-wheel-drive system. We expect the same power figures and set up to be carried forward to BS6 models.

The exterior changes of the BS6 D-Max V-Cross are not expected to feature any major design changes. However, the company could make a few minor tweaks. The pick-up will continue to feature roof rails, projector headlamps, side-step, a drop-down tailgate, external rear-view mirrors, front and rear bumpers, a scuff plate at either end and a chrome-finished grille; among others.

Moving inside, the interiors of the upcoming pick-up is not expected to change much as well. However, it could also receive minor tweaks including a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and new leather upholstery.

All other features on the BS6 V-Cross D-Max will be carried forward from the BS4 model. This includes a rear parking camera with sensors, climate controls, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, multiple airbags, (MID) multi-information display and more.

The BS4 D-Max V-Cross retailed between Rs 16.55 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated engine on the BS6 pick-up will attract a premium over the pricing of BS4 models. The prices of the new D-Max V-Cross could increase by as much as Rs 1 lakh.
