Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6 Arrives At Dealerships Ahead Of India Launch: Here Are All Details
Isuzu has updated its commercial line-up to meet new emission norms. However, the private vehicle line-up is such as the D-Max V-Cross and the MU-X is yet to be updated to BS6 standards in the Indian market.
Ahead of their launch, the D-Max V-Cross pick-up has been spotted arriving at showrooms in the country. Images from Cardekho showcases two BS6 pick-up models in a different paint scheme.
images also reveal that the blue pick-up is the top-spec Z prestige variant of the D-Max V-Cross. However, the silver pick-up could be a base or a lower-spec model. It misses out on roof rails, chrome-finished door handles and a bunch of other features that are seen on the Blue model.
At the rear, the Z prestige variant features a Ddi badge. This indicates to the fact that the pick-up will use the same 1.9-litre diesel engine. The 1.9-litre unit produces a maximum of 148bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
While the lower-spec 2.5-litre engine was only offered with a five-speed manual gearbox. The powertrain produced 135bhp and 320Nm of torque — 13bhp and 30Nm of torque lesser than the top-spec unit.
However, both the powertrains were offered with a selectable four-wheel-drive system. We expect the same power figures and set up to be carried forward to BS6 models.
Speaking about the design, the BS6 D-Max V-Cross does not feature any major design changes from its BS4 counterpart. The pick-up will continue to feature roof rails, projector headlamps, side-step, a drop-down tailgate, external rear-view mirrors, front and rear bumpers, a scuff plate at either end and a chrome-finished grille; among others.
The interiors of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross revealed from the images does not point to any changes from the BS4 model. However, it could undergo subtle revisions to enhance the premium feel of the cabin.
It is also expected to receive a larger touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other Interior and safety features include a rear parking camera with sensors, climate controls, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, multiple airbags, (MID) multi-information display and more will be carried over from the previous model.
Judging by the pick-up arriving at dealerships, the D-Max V-Cross could go on sale next month in the country. The BS6 model is expected to carry a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the BS4 model across variants. The BS4 D-Max V-Cross retailed between Rs 16.55 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is the only pick-up vehicle offering in the Indian market. Apart from the niche audience, the D-Max V-Cross has recently gained a lot of popularity and has attracted general buyers as well. Whether the new pricing will affect its popularity in the Indian market remains to be seen.
