Moreover, Hyundai could also offer the Kona EV with a bigger 64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack for a longer range compared to the current model which offers an ARAI certified range of 452 kms using its 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Speaking about the Hyundai Kona EV, the all-electric EV from the Korean manufacturer is powered by a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) electric motor. This electric motor puts out 135 bhp and 395 Nm of torque from the moment you slam the throttle pedal.

Hyundai says that the Kona EV can reach 100 kmph from a standstill in just 9.7 seconds and charge from 0-80 per cent battery capacity under an hour using a 50 kW DC fast charger. However, using an AC charger takes 6 hours and 10 mins to replenish the battery to 100 per cent capacity.
