Honda Increases The Prices Of The Fifth Gen City, Amaze, Jazz & WR-V: Here Are The New Prices

Honda Car India currently has five models in their portfolio for the Indian market: Amaze, Jazz, WR-V, Fourth gen City and Fifth gen City. However, due to the increase in the cost of production, the prices of four vehicles have to be increased except the Fourth gen City. Below listed are the new prices for the rest of the models.

The Honda Amaze now gets a starting price tag of Rs 6.22 lakh for the base and goes all the way up to Rs 9.99 lakh for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom. The petrol engine in the Amaze comes in the form of a 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit producing 89bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The special edition is offered with both manual and CVT automatic transmission options.

Similarly, the diesel engine comes in the form of a 1.5-litre unit, in two states-of-tune. The first produces 99bhp and 200Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual, while the second state-of-tune churns out 79bhp and 160Nm of peak torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission unit.

The Honda Jazz carries a starting price of Rs 7.55 lakh for the base and Rs 9.76 for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom. The petrol engine in the Jazz comes in the form of a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine. It produces 89bhp and 110Nm of peak torque at 4800rpm and is mated to either a five-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT automatic transmission option. The automatic transmission variants of the Honda Jazz also come with sporty paddle-shifters, which is segment-first.

The Honda WR-V now carries a starting price of Rs 8.62 lakh for the base and goes all the way to Rs 11.5 lakh for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom. The Honda WR-V petrol models feature a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that produces 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It also gets a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that produces 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Last but not least, the fifth-generation Honda City now carries a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh for the base and Rs 14.94 lakh for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom. The fifth-gen Honda City will be offered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre (DOHC) Double Overhead Cam engine produces 120bhp and 150Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre diesel unit churns out 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both engines are offered with a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT automatic transmission.

Thoughts About The Price Increased By Honda Cars India On Its Models

As we mentioned above the price increase is due to the increase in the cost of production. However, the variants that have got a hike in their prices is not that much that will affect the sales of the company.
