EVRE & Zyngo To Add 5,000 EV Chargers In Next 24 Months
Bangalore-based EV infrastructure provider EVRE has teamed up with electric vehicle logistics provider Zyngo and will provide the latter's delivery fleet with 5000 chargers in the next 24 months.
Zyngo is India's largest EV logistics platform for the E-Commerce industry and currently provides last mile EV delivery services for corporate partners like Amazon, Flipkart, Big Basket and Jio Mart among others.
Zyngo claims that its current electric vehicle fleet which is made up of 500+ EVs leased from OEMs such as Hero, Piaggio and Mahindra account for two lakh deliveries every month. Zyngo plans to increase this fleet to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by the year 2023 and its new partnership with EVRE will see the latter provide it with 5,000 charging points for its electric fleet. These charging points can also be used by other fleet owners.
Initially, EVRE will provide Zyngo with 500 charging stations for its EV fleet of 500 EVs. As per the agreement between the two companies, EVRE will lease the land, provide the parking and charging infrastructure, operate & maintain, and take care of the insurance, safety and security of these charging hubs. As Zyngo expands to new cities in the next few months, EVRE will provide the support to park and charge Zyngo's dedicated EV fleet with its existing and upcoming infrastructure at the new locations.
Speaking about his company's new partnership with EVRE, Prateek Rao, Founder & CEO, Zyngo said, "We are driving ahead the electrification of hyperlocal delivery services across the E-commerce spectrum. This initiative requires such collaborations to enable the empanelment of EV ecosystem in the last-mile delivery space. EVRE's tech advanced charging infra combined with Zyngo's fully competent and advanced Logistics tech platform & fleet management will strive the EV ecosystem and enable faster adoption."
Commenting on this partnership, Krishna K Jasti, Co-Founder and CEO of EVRE said, "We aim to increase new business value through co-creation with services and businesses, such as the advancement of Computer Vision technology. Through such partnerships, we are looking towards developing an integrated ecosystem for EV fleet owners as well as EV users across the country. Zyngo, with its unique proposition, is an apt partner as both the organizations will mutually benefit from the cross-utilization of resources in the EV ecosystem".
The 5000 EV charging stations from EVRE will all be accessible to Zyngo fleet operators through the EVRE app. This will allow these EV operators to bring their two or three-wheeled electric vehicle to the nearest charging station which will offer both slow and fast charging options to top up the battery packs of Zyngo's EV fleet.
The new partnership with Zyngo sees EVRE move forward with its plans to establish and maintain 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the country by 2023.
Thoughts on Zyngo & EVRE's Partnership
Zyngo and EVRE's partnership is another step to laying down the proper infrastructure required to get India as a country to adopt electric vehicles for both private and commercial use. The new partnership will enable many more electric vehicles to conduct last-mile deliveries which in turn will help bring down emission figures while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
