Euler Motors HiLoad Commercial EV Launched At Rs 3.50 Lakhs
Delhi-based electric commercial vehicle startup Euler Motors has launched the HiLoad L5 three-wheeler in India. The Euler HiLoad is priced at Rs. 3,49,999 ex-showroom, Delhi after FAME and state subsidies. Sales of the Euler HiLoad will start on the 15th of January, 2022 in the Delhi NCR region.
The Euler Motors HiLoad is powered by a single electric motor that provides 14.21bhp and a class-leading 88.55Nm of peak torque. This allows the HiLoad to lug around 688 kilogrammes of cargo, which is once best in its class.
Providing power to the motor is a homegrown 72V, 12.4kW battery pack that features liquid cooling. The temperature of the battery pack is kept at a steady 25 degrees centigrade thanks to proprietary tech Euler has dubbed 'Arc Reactor 100'.
The battery pack on the Euler HiLoad supports 3kW charging from a regular 3-pin socket. This will charge the battery pack from 0-80 per cent in just three hours. Also provided is fast DC charging.
Euler has two fast-charging setups dubbed Flash 6 and Flash 27. Flash 6 will fully charge the HiLoad in just two hours, while Flash 27 delivers 50 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes.
Euler also has an on-road charging setup called 'Charge on Wheels' by which drivers can summon a mobile charging unit that will deliver 20 kilometres of charge in just 30 minutes. The Charge on Wheels setup also provides roadside breakdown assistance and on-demand doorstep maintenance.
There are two variants of the HiLoad on offer, the X and XR. The X offers the maximum loading capacity of 688 kilogrammes, while in the XR that figure drops slightly to 655kg. The HiLoad XR's range is also slightly lower at a claimed 129 kilometres and it produces only 9.1bhp. Both variants have a top speed of 42km/h.
The Highload X is 2100mm tall and has its container measures in at 6 x 4.7 x 4.3 feet. The Hiload XR is shorter in height at 1,800mm tall. The container's dimensions on the PV are 6 x 4.7 x open (the PV storage area is open to the elements.
The Euler Motors HiLoad also sports quite a few segment-first features including projector headlamps and a disc brake (200mm) upfront. Also present is a digital instrument console that delivers real-time data on the vehicle to the driver. Euler also provides a monitoring app called Shepherd, which can also be used for geofencing along with real-time GPS tracking.
The Highload will be available in four styles, half load body, delivery van, high deck and flat deck.
The HiLoad also features 30 per cent wider tyres which combined with the skateboard style chassis help keep the commercial EV from toppling. The Euler HiLoad has a ground clearance of 190mm of ground clearance.
Euler Motors had in August received orders from e-commerce retailers like Flipkart, BigBasket and Udaan to supply them with 2,500 HiLoad EVs. The company which was started in 2018 has been conducting a pilot testing programme that has seen 300 vehicles cover over one million kilometres.
Euler Motors has also stated that the HiLoad EV commercial vehicle will receive OTA updates. The company claims that it can tweak the performance of the battery pack and motors depending on where you are driving or by the temperature of the area you are in.
Thoughts on the Euler HiLoad Launch
The Euler HiLoad looks to be a gamechanger in the three-wheeler commercial market. With its game-changing EV powertrain, it sure looks like Euler has a winner on its hands.
