According to the report from Autopunditz, the Tata Nexon EV has registered a total of 525 units last month. In comparison, the electric SUV registered a total of 632 units in the month of March 2021. This is an MoM (Month-on-Month) sales degrowth of nearly 17 per cent.

Finishing in second place in the sales chart is the MG ZS EV. The electric SUV from the Britsh-based automaker has registered 156 units in April 2021. This is nearly half of what the ZS EV achieved in March this year.

Completing the podium places in the electric car sales in India in April 2021 is the Tata Tigor EV compact-sedan. A total of 56 electric compact-sedan units were sold last month. In comparison, the Tigor EV registered a total of 73 units in March this year. It translates to an MoM sales decrease of over 7 per cent.

Finishing in the fourth and final spot on the sales chart is the Hyundai Kona EV. Despite a Rs 1.5 lakh discount in the last month, the electric crossover has managed to attract only 12 buyers in the country in April 2021. However, this is 1 unit more than the Kona EV sales from March 2021, which stood at 11 units.

A total of 749 electric passenger four-wheelers were sold in the country in April 2021. This is 26.5 per cent less than the sales from March this year. The Nexon EV continues its dominance in the segment with over 70 per cent market share in the country.
