BMW Indian Increase Prices Of Certain Variants Across Its Portfolio: Read More To Find Out!
BMW Group India has recently revised the prices of select models in its line-up. The models that have received a price hike are the 3 Series, 2 Series Gran Coupe, X1, X3, X4, X5, and X7 and below mentioned are the new prices for all the models. The new prices are effective from 8 April, 2021. We are expecting that the company has taken this action due to the increase in the cost of production.
Starting with the 2 Series Gran Coupe, the car receives its first price escalation. The 220d Sportline and 220i M Sport guise are now going to be expensive by Rs 80,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively. However, the recently launched 220i Sport trim does not get the hike. Powering the 2 Series Gran Coupe is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 188bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque. it also gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces a maximum of 188bhp and a peak torque of 280Nm. The engine is offered in a single 220i M Sport trim.
The 3 Series is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options in India. The petrol variants, 330i Sport and 330i M Sport are now costlier by Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively. However, the 320d Luxury Edition is now expensive by Rs 60,000.
The BMW X1, the sDrive 20i SportX and sDrive20i xLine see an increase in the price of about Rs 1,30,000 and Rs 90,000, respectively. On the other hand, the sDrive20d xLine is become expensive by Rs 1,10,000. Powering the facelifted BMW X1 is a BS6 emissions norms compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The engine pumps out a healthy 190bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Next up is the X3, the xDrive30i SportX is now expensive by Rs 1,00,000, xDrive 30i Luxury Line by Rs 90,000 and the xDrive 20d Luxury Line is now Rs 1,20,000 more expensive. Not only that, the prices for the X4 are as of now: for the xDrive30i M Sport X, the new prices are up by Rs 80,000 and xDrive30d M Sport X is up by Rs 1,00,000.
Both the diesel variants of the X5 SUV are now expensive by Rs 1,00,000. However, the xDrive40i M Sport is now expensive by Rs 60,000. And last but not least, the X7 gets the highest increase in the ex-showroom prices. The xDrive40i M Sport gets a price hike of Rs 2.5 lakh whereas the DPE and DPE Signature diesel variants become expensive by Rs 2.90 lakh and Rs 3.80 lakh, respectively.
Thoughts About The Price Hike Done By BMW India
We are expecting that the hike in the price across certain variants of the BMW portfolio is due to the increase in the cost of production. However, the increase in the prices is not that much that it will affect the sales of the company.
