BMW India launched the latest-generation 7 Series back in 2019 in the Indian market. The BMW 7 Series was offered with a starting price of Rs 1.22 Crore, ex-showroom (India). However, BMW has discontinued the 745Le xDrive plug-in hybrid in India and with that, the company now has no hybrid and electric cars on sale in the country.
Speaking a little about the BMW 745Le xDrive plug-in hybrid, in terms of design, the new 7 Series came with BMW's signature kidney grille. The new large kidney grille on the 7 series was been borrowed from the X7 SUV. The sedan also came with sleek matrix LED headlamps flanking the large grille, with integrated LED DRLs.
BMW also updated the front bumper, which came with chrome accents adding to the premium-ness of the sedan. The side profile on the new 7 series continues to come with a clean design, with just a thin chrome strip running at the bottom part of the sedan. The windows also get a thin chrome strip surround; all of which add to the premium appeal of the car.
The rear comes with LED taillights connected by a thin LED line and a chrome strip. The rear bumpers also come with silver accents which surround the exhaust tips on either end. Inside, the new BMW 7 Series comes with the brand's latest-generation digital instrument cluster, a central 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice assist, hand gesture controls and a host of other features.
The seats on the 7 Series come covered in premium Nappa leather with a range of quilted options, as well as leather colours. The rear passengers also get a 10-inch touchscreen display, which can also control different functions of the car.
Mechanically, the 745 Le xDrive came powered by an in-line six-cylinder petrol engine producing 286bhp and 450Nm of torque. The engine is further mated to an electric motor which produces 113bhp and 265Nm of torque; taking the combined total to 394bhp and 600Nm of torque. Power is sent to all-four wheels via BMW's xDrive system. The plug-in hybrid variant claims to offer a 0 - 100km/h time of 5.8 seconds while also returning a fuel efficiency figure of 39.5km/l.
Thoughts About The BMW 745Le xDrive Plug-In Hybrid
