The BMW 220i Black Shadow Edition offers the same powertrain as the regular 220i Gran Coupe. The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 188bhp at 4,000 rpm and 400Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels (Yes, we know it is sacrilegious for all the hardcore BMW fanboys out there, but get over it already) via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which can be controlled manually with the help of paddle shifters. The BMW M220i accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds.

The BMW 220i Black Shadow Edition gets a host of BMW M Performance parts that would usually cost the owner a rather hefty extra Rs 3.25 lakhs. These parts include the M performance rear boot lip spoiler and the mesh style blacked out M front grille. Other changes include tailpipes finished in black chrome and the 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels in Jet Black Matt. The new wheels also feature the floating hub caps that feature the BMW logo which remains level at all times.

Thoughts On The New BMW 220i Black Shadow

The BMW 220i Black Shadow is yet another clever special edition car from the Bavarian luxury carmaker. Thanks to its limited numbers and host of specialist parts, we expect all 24 units of this limited edition version of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe to find new homes in no time at all.
