Audi E-Tron GT Launch Tomorrow

However, the launch will not only bring the standard Audi e-tron GT in India, but it will also bring in the highest performing variant; the Audi RS e-tron GT.

Recently, the German brand released a teaser video of the upcoming Audi e-tron that revealed various design elements of the all-electric 4-door sedan. These revelations include Audi's signature LED headlights and LED tail lamps, along with a sloping roofline.

Speaking about the design of the Audi e-tron, it looks more like a conventionally powered car rather than an electric car that is designed for the future, and it is not a bad thing.

Since Audi is not trying very hard with the design to mimic the future, the overall design is pleasing to the eye despite multiple creases and sharp lines over the body.

One of the major contributors fro the conventional-looking design could be the presence of large air intakes at the front and the absence of futuristic-looking flush door handles, which is more reminiscent of the conventionally powered cars.

Powering the Audi e-tron GT is a large 93.4kWh battery pack, which is mostly consumed by a pair of motors that pushes out a combined 462Bhp and 629Nm of torque. However, the power output can be boosted for a brief moment to about 515Bhp in overboost mode.

In overboost mode, the standard Audi e-tron GT can do 0-100kmph in just 3.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 244kmph.

The same feat in the sportier Audi RS e-tron takes just 3.1 seconds and it can do a top speed of 250 kmph.

Enabling this feat is a pair of electric motors combined to produce a total of 582 Bhp and 829Nm of torque. However, in boost mode, this power jump can raise to 628Bhp.

According to Audi, the Audi e-tron GT can do 383km on a full charge, whereas the more potent Audi RS e-tron GT could manage an equally respectable 373km on a full charge.

Back in July, Audi launched its all-electric SUVs, the Audi e-Tron SUV and Sportback. Audi launched the e-Tron SUV in two trim levels, while the e-Tron Sportback is offered in a single trim only.

The Audi e-Tron range starts from Rs 99.99 lakhs for the base Audi e-Tron 50 and goes up to Rs 1.17 crore for the Audi e-Tron Sportback 55.

The Audi e-Tron 50 is powered by a 71kWh battery and the propulsion duty is taken care by a pair of electric motors that produce a combined 308Bhp and 540Nm of torque.

Whereas the Audi e-Tron 55 trim level uses a larger 95kWh battery pack and more powerful 402Bhp electric motors with 664Nm of torque.

According to sources, the Audi e-tron GT will be priced anywhere between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom).

Thoughts About Audi E-Tron GT Launch In India

With the launch of the Audi e-tron GT in India, Audi's plans for India is in line with the brand's global plan to achieve a product portfolio consisting of 30 per cent electrified cars.

This is also an advantage for Audi, as the brand will have an edge over its competitor in future with the earlier introduction of premium EVs in India.
