Ashok Leyland Delivers Light Bullet-Proof Vehicles To Indian Air Force: First Batch of LBPV
Ashok Leyland has recently delivered its LBPV (Light Bullet Proof Vehicle) to the Indian Air Force. The first lot of the much awaited LBPV was delivered on 13 April, 2021. It is expected to help the Indian Air Force operate in a safer manner in its forward operating bases. More units of the vehicle will be built and delivered as per schedule.
Apart from being the flagship brand under the Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland is also the largest supplier of logistics vehicles to the Indian Armed Forces. Ashok Leyland's LBPV delivered to Indian Air Force is a derivation of Lockheed Martin's CVNG (Common Vehicle Nex Gen). The new batch was developed by the 'Transfer-Of-Technology' program from Lockheed Martin to Ashok Leyland.
In India, the terrain varies with each region. From the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas to barren Deserts of Rajasthan and the Rain Forests of the East. So, the new LBPV is designed to suit our specific military applications and is capable of traversing through various terrains like mud, sand, rocks, riverbeds, and snow.
The new LBPV from Ashok Leyland can carry 6 people and thanks to its enormous cargo space, it can carry a wide variety of military equipment as well. The LBPV is also resistant towards both ballistics and blast threats, protecting its crew at all times.
Despite being very rugged in nature, the new LBPV is designed to carry its occupants in comfort even while tackling tough terrains. This means the crew can arrive at their destination with less fatigue and be ready for any mission presented before them.
Thoughts On First Batch Of Ashok Leyland LBPVs Being Delivered To The Indian Air Force
The new Ashok Leyland LBPV will be a valuable piece of equipment in our Air Force's arsenal, as its primary role is to protect those who protect us. The new LBPV will also give a newfound meaning to mobility for our Air Force wing. The fact that the vehicle can carry personnel as well as cargo makes it all the more useful.
