Variant Brochure Leaked For The All-New Honda City Before Launch: Specifications & Details
Honda was supposed to launch the fifth-generation City earlier this year, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the launch had to be postponed. The company will be launching the all-new fifth-generation Honda City on July 15, 2020, in the Indian Market.
However, as per a recent report by Teambhp, the all-new fifth-generation Honda City will be available in three variants: V, VX and ZX. According to the leaked brochure, the new City will be loaded with features from the base V trim onwards.
Speaking about the features on the V trim, on the outside, the car gets halogen projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the sedan gets premium dual-tone black and beige interior colour scheme, chrome accents, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with 4 speakers, rear AC vents, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustments, retractable wing mirrors, cruise control, engine start/stop and automatic climate control.
Safety features include 4 airbags, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist and a rearview camera. ABS and EBD are offered as standard features across.
Coming to the Honda City VX variant, the sedan gets features like 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, a one-touch electric sunroof with auto pinch function, leather upholstery, 7 inch HD digital colour TFT MID, 8 speaker sound system with 4 tweeters. Safety features include six SRS airbags, auto-dimming IRVMs, steering scroll selector and auto-locking.
Now coming to the top-end ZX trim, this variant gets all the features from the V and the VX variant. In addition, this variant gets 9 LED array headlamps with integrated LED dynamic turn signals, LED fog lamps and auto-folding ORVMs. On the inside, the car gets perforated leather upholstery, wooden accents, one-touch up and down anti-pinch power windows, remote operated sunroof.
Safety features include handling assist, hill start, a total of six i-SRS airbags, vehicle stability assist, a (TPMS) Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, six airbags and ABS with EBD.
Mechanically, the 2020 Honda City is offered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC (DOHC) produces 120bhp of power and 145Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit churns out 100bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque. Both the units come mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with an optional seven-speed CVT automatic transmission offered on the petrol variants only.
Thoughts About The All-New Honda City
Honda has equipped the fifth-generation City with many best-in-class features starting from the base V variant. Once launched, the Honda City will go up against the likes of the new Hyundai Verna, the Skoda Rapid, the Volkswagen Vento, and the Toyota Yaris in the Indian market.
