Uber India Partners With Lithium Urban Technologies: Will Deploy Over 1000 Electric Sedans

Uber India has announced its partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, which is India's largest electric vehicle fleet operator. Under this partnership, they will deploy over 1,000 electric vehicles (EV), all sedans, across Uber Rentals and Premier. These cabs will be introduced in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune in the coming months.

So far, Uber has deployed more than 100 of these electric sedans like the Mahindra eVerito and Tata Tigor EV. The company has also said that over the next 12 months they will be increasing their fleet of sedans to 2,000 electric vehicles which will also include the Lithium EVs.

Moreover, these Lithium's charging stations in these cities have the capacity to charge multiple cars and buses at the same time. They also have the facility of slow and fast chargers across these cities. The fast charger can charge the battery in just 90 minutes. On the other hand, the regular/slow charger will take up to 8 to 9 hours.

Commenting on the partnership, Ashwin Mahesh, Co-founder and CEO, Lithium Urban Technologies said, "Our partnership with Uber has the potential to significantly add to the number of electric kilometers covered by cars in every city. The responsibility to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility belongs to all of us, and partnerships have an important role to play in making that happen. Electric vehicles are particularly well-suited to the shared economy, and that's why we're seeing their early adoption, most noticeably in fleets."

Through this partnership the company promises to provide smarter mobility, building greener cities and creating healthier lives. Recently Uber also announced their global commitment to make all rides on our platform 100% emission-free by 2040 through zero-emission vehicles.
