Toyota To Hike Prices Of Vellfire & Camry Hybrid Models In India From July: Here Are The Details
Toyota Kirloskar Motors India has announced that they will be increasing the prices of their Vellfire and Camry hybrid models in the Indian market. The price hike for both the hybrid models will come into effect from the starting of July 2020.
Toyota is yet to announce the exact hike amount for the Vellfire and Camry models. The company states that the reason for the hike is due to the substantial rise in exchange rates. This does indicate a significant price hike on both the models.
The Toyota Vellfire is the latest entry in the brand's product portfolio in the Indian market. The Vellfire is positioned as an ultra-premium MPV offering from the Japanese brand in the country, rivalling the likes of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The Toyota Vellfire is also the latest flagship model in the brand's lineup and is priced at Rs 79.50 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
The Toyota Camry Hybrid, on the other hand, was recently updated to comply with the BS6 emission norms in the Indian market. The update to the BS6 norms caused Toyota to increase the prices of the Camry by Rs 93,000 and the sedan retails at a starting price of Rs 37.88 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
Apart from the price hike for the Toyota Camry and the Vellfire, the brand also recently hiked the prices of its two most popular models, the Fortuner and the Innova Crysta. While the Toyota Fortuner received a price hike of up to Rs 48,000, the Innova Crysta received a much significant increase of up to Rs 60,000.
Toyota also unveiled the 2021 Fortuner facelift in Thailand recently. The new (2021) Toyota Fortuner facelift comes with a host of updates and changes, along with a number of new features and equipment. The 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift is expected to come to India sometime later this year — here are the details.
Thoughts About The Toyota Vellfire & Camry Hybrid Price Hike
The Toyota Vellfire and Camry Hybrid have been received well in the premium segment of the Indian market, especially the Vellfire MPV. While the Toyota Vellfire rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class as mentioned before; the Camry Hybrid takes on the likes of the Skoda Superb in the Indian market.
