Toyota To Launch The Limited-Edition Fortuner In India Soon
Toyota launched the Fortuner in India back in 2009. Since then, the SUV has had a cult following and has gained a lot of traction as far as the sales go. Well, as the years have passed by there have been a lot of new stylish SUVs entering the market and the Fortuner has started to look slightly old-fashioned.
According to Autocar India, who had a conversation with Naveen Soni, senior vice president, sales and service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, stated, "Coming very soon is a limited-edition version of the Toyota Fortuner." Hence confirming the launch of the limited-edition Fortuner and this time the SUV will be feature loaded. Also, the facelifted Fortuner was snapped testing earlier this year.
Naveen also stated that "There's a substantial number of Corolla Altis owners in the country, and we will ensure they have full support in terms of spares and service for at least 10-15 years more. It's what we've done for owners of previous-generation models too - we still service the Qualis!".
The limited-edition Fortuner is expected to get changes both on the inside and out. Also, some new features like a 360-degree camera and auto-folding ORVMs are expected to be seen on the SUV. With all the changes done, the limited-edition Fortuner will be priced at a premium over the existing BS6 variant.
The standard Fortuner is powered by a 2.8-litre BS6 diesel engine that produces 174.5bhp of power and 450Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to all the wheels. Prices of the current model start from Rs 28.18 to 33.95 lakh ex-showroom.
Recently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced a Dealer Support Package called ‘COVID Package'. This unique package will provide necessary assistance to dealer partners to overcome the lockdown phase, ensuring their safety and wellbeing during these uncertainties. The package is also designed after a careful evaluation of individual dealerships' customized internal processes and fixed cost thus allowing them optimum utilization of the benefits.
Thoughts On The Limited-Edition Fortuner
Well, the Fortuner has been ruling the SUV segment in the Indian market for over a decade now and with this limited-edition model, Toyota will have a lot of buyers for the new Fortuner.
