Toyota Kirloskar Motors Plant Strike: Could The Innova Crysta Facelift Launch Get Delayed?

According to the latest report, the company is expected to launch the much-awaited Toyota Innova Crysta facelift by the end of the year in the Indian market. Whether this will affect the India launch timeline of the facelifted MPV, remains to be seen.

Toyota recently announced that it has moved to the fourth day of the lockout at its manufacturing facility. Like most manufacturers, even Toyota is also recovering from the nation and state-wide lockdowns announced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Another lockout could cause delays in product launch and regular vehicle deliveries in the country. However, the company has announced that it is currently negotiating with workers union to restore normalcy at its manufacturing facility.

Speaking about the MPV itself, the 2021 Innova Crysta is currently unveiled in international markets. We expect the company to introduce the same facelift model in the Indian market as well.

The updated MPV now receives an all-new front fascia with a slightly larger front grille as compared to the outgoing model in the Indian market. The number of horizontal slats has increased to five and now gets a blacked-out treatment with thick chrome surrounds. The headlamp units are updated with a new design along with integrated LED DRLs.

The 2021 model also receives an aggressive front bumper design. The lower section of the grille is blacked-out and also houses the faux silver skid plate. The halogen fog lamps have also been redesigned and now has two units on each side. The Innova Crysta facelift model also receives the updated alloy wheels design.

Toyota has made subtle changes to the rear of the MPV such as a black cladding that is now placed in the number plate area. The bumper and other rear exterior design features remain the same as the pre-facelift model.

On the inside, the upgrades have been subtle without changing the overall layout of the cabin. The facelifted MPV now receives a blacked-out theme with updated seat upholstery. Other updates include a new instrument cluster and a new air purifier.

The 2021 Innova Crysta facelift is expected to remain unchanged mechanically in India-spec models. The MPV is currently offered with two engine options: 2.7-litre petrol and 2.4-litre diesel engines.
