A government document leaked by carandbike, reveals the Timero name being registered by Tata Motors. It is expected to be reserved for the upcoming HBX micro-SUV, which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.

However, no official confirmation has been given by the company. The HBX or the Timero has been spied several times testing in the country ahead of its launch. As a result, several features have been revealed that are expected on the micro-SUV.

The Timero is expected to feature a more modern design with rugged looks that enhances its road presence. It will also feature large wheel arches, bold crease lines, a floating-roof design and large chunky alloy wheels adding to the rugged looks of the micro-SUV.

The upcoming SUV will feature the brand's ALFA architecture and the Impact 2.0 design, similar to the Altroz premium hatchback. The tall-riding design is combined with a sleek looking grille and split-headlamps that looks inspired by the Harrier SUV.

On the inside, the upcoming hatchback-SUV is expected to borrow most of its features from the Altroz hatchback. This includes the large touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other features that are expected include a funky-looking dashboard design, dual-tone upholstery, ambient lighting, and the semi-digital instrument cluster. The SUVish stance will also make for more cabin space to easily seat five passengers in total.

The Hornbill is expected to feature the same petrol engine that currently powers the Altroz premium-hatchback. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque and comes mated to a manual transmission. The company is expected to offer the petrol engine with an optional AMT at a later date.
