Tata Tigor Facelift Launched In India Starting At Rs 5.75 Lakh Ex-Showroom
The Tata Tigor, which is the sub-4 metre sedan from the company's portfolio, has been around in the market for quite some time now and has gained a lot of traction. Tata Motors has now launched the BS6 variant of the car and it is likely to go on sale during the second quarter of 2020. The car will be available in six variants XE, XM, XZ, XMA, XZ+, and XZA+.
A lot of things in the car have changed both in the interior and the exterior. Starting off with the front end, the Tigor gets a completely fresh facia. The grille of the car has been updated and looks similar to the grille on the Altroz.
Moving on, the car also gets a set of new sleek headlights that feature a projector lamp for the low beam, and a regular halogen cluster for the high beam. The fog lamp clusters have also been redesigned, and now houses the LED DRLs. The bonnet of the car has been tweaked so that it can meet the upcoming pedestrian norms.
Moving on, earlier the Tigor got three options for the wheels, but now, the customers can choose between 14-inch and 15-inch wheels. The side profile of the car remains the same as before. At the rear, it gets a set of updated taillights, and the front and rear bumpers have also been tweaked.
The biggest update that the car has received is the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which is BS6 compliant. The engine makes 85bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque. However, the power has increased slightly, close to 1bhp, while on the other hand, the torque has gone down by 1Nm as compared to the BS4 version.
The Tigor is available with the same transmission options which include a five-speed manual or an AMT. The diesel variant of the car has been discontinued and it will only be available in a petrol avatar. Tata has priced the Tigor facelift from Rs 5.75 lakh onwards (ex-showroom Delhi).
Thoughts On The Facelifted Tata Tigor
The Tigor was already a good car as far as comfort and drivability were concerned and now with this facelifted version, the sub-4 metre sedan looks even more stunning. Once launched the car will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, and the newly launched Hyundai Aura.
