Tata Nexon & Altroz Price Increase Announced In India: Here Is The New Price List
Tata Motors announced a price increase on the Nexon and the Altorz models in the Indian market. Both models receive a price hike ranging between Rs 1,000 and up to Rs 16,000 depending on the variant.
The prices are increased across all variants of both models and are effective immediately in the country. There are no changes made to either of the models and it is strictly a price increase after the BS6 update.
The Nexon compact-SUV and the Altroz premium hatchback now retails at a starting price of Rs 5.44 lakh and Rs 6.69 lakh, ex-showroom (India), respectively. Here is a detailed variant-wise analysis of the new price increase.
Tata Motors confirmed that the prices have been revised for its 'New Forever' range of passenger vehicles. The company stated that there are several reasons behind the increase such as the evolving market conditions, changes in input costs and other economic factors.

The Tata Altroz is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The company is also offering the premium hatchback with a few in-house style packages that add more features. These are packages are part of the personalization and is available in four options: Urban, Luxe, Style and Rhythm.
Apart from the top-spec XZ (O) variant of the hatchback, all other variants along with customisable packages receive a price increase of around Rs 15,000. The top-spec variant is hiked only by Rs 6,000.
Also, the entry-level XE trim of the diesel model does not receive any price increase. The XE Rhythm diesel variant with the customised package now costs Rs 3,000 more.
While the Altorz petrol XE base variant is priced at Rs 5.44 lakh the top-spec XZ (O) petrol now retails at 7.75 lakh. Similarly, the Altorz diesel XE and XZ(O) now cost Rs 6.99 lakh and 9.35 lakh, respectively.

Moving to the Tata Nexon, the company offers the compact-SUV with both petrol and diesel engine options along with an optional AMT automatic transmission. Although Tata is not offering the Nexon with personalization, it is offered with an optional dual-tone paint scheme.
After the price increase the Nexon petrol XE now retails at a starting price of Rs 6.69 lakh, while the top-spec XZA Plus Dual Tone (S) costs Rs 11.34 lakh. Similarly, the diesel XE variant of the SUV now retails Rs 8.45 lakh, and the top-spec XZA Plus Dual Tone (O) costs Rs 12.7 lakh.
As mentioned before, the price increase will be effective immediately and will affect customers who have booked the vehicles as well. There are some dealer-level curated offers for the Nexon. However, the Altorz continues to be on sale without any consumer offer from the company.
Thoughts About The Tata Nexon & Altroz Price Increase Announced In India
Tata Motors has increased the prices of both the Nexon and Altroz model in the country. The prices are increased because of the increased manufacturing costs of BS6 models among others. The prices go up by a small margin and are not expected to affect sales.
