Tata Motors will be launching a new entry-level SUV model to its line-up in the country. Called the HBX, it is expected to arrive sometime next year in the market. Ahead of its launch, the Tata HBX has been spied several times revealing its design and features.

Latest spy image posted on Instagram, reveals the upcoming micro-SUV's front-end design. As noticed from the image, the HBX's front-end is inspired by the brand's flagship model, the Harrier. The HBX features the same split-style headlamp design with the DRLs at the top next to the grille and the main headlamps placed in the bumper.

This new split-style design element has become something of a trend lately in the automotive world, especially with the SUVs. The new design gives the SUV a distinctive presence while plying on roads giving it a ‘head-turner' factor.

Based on spy images in the past, the Tata HBX will feature a y-shaped LED taillamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, all-around body cladding, and roof-rails; among others. Bumpers at both ends will also feature faux skid plates for an enhanced and aggressive look.

The upcoming SUV from Tata Motors will feature the brand's ALFA architecture and the Impact 2.0 design, similar to the Altroz premium hatchback. The SUV-ish design will help give the HBX an enhanced cabin space to comfortably seat four passengers plus the driver. Also, the production version of the SUV could be called either Timero or the Hornbill judging by the earlier reports.

On the inside, the upcoming hatchback-SUV is expected to borrow most of its features from the Altroz hatchback. It includes the touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other features expected on the HBX includes a funky-looking dashboard design, dual-tone upholstery, ambient lighting, and the semi-digital instrument cluster; among others. Going by the enhanced safety of Tata cars in recent times, we expect the upcoming HBX to come equipped with a host of features to ensure ample crash protection and occupant safety.

The HBX is expected to feature the same petrol engine that currently powers the Altroz premium-hatchback. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque and comes mated to a manual transmission. The company is also expected to offer the petrol engine with an optional AMT at a later date.
