Tata Harrier To Receive Two New Variants XTA & XT+ Soon: Here Are All Details
Tata Motors launched a new version of its flagship SUV, the Harrier earlier this year. The 2020 Harrier came with a whole host of changes including a powerful engine and an optional automatic transmission.
The SUV is currently available a wide range of variants — five for the manual models and three for the automatic. According to the recent report from TeamBHP, the company is expected to launch two more variants for the Harrier SUV.
Two variants that will be introduced are expected to be the XTA and the XT+. The XT+ variant could be placed between the XT and the XZ variants in the Harrier's line up and it could come equipped with a panoramic sunroof as well.
On the other hand, the automatic transmission is currently available on the XMA, XZA and the XZA+ variants. The upcoming XTA is expected to be placed between the XMA and the XZA trims. Unlike the new manual variant, the XTA might miss out on the panoramic sunroof.
The Harrier manual variant currently retails between Rs 13.69 lakh and Rs 18.95 lakh, while the automatic models cost between Rs 16.25 lakh and Rs 20.25 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).
Considering both the new variants will be slotted in between the existing variants the XT+ and the XTA could be priced around Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom. The Harrier is currently available in both single and dual-tone paint schemes depending on the variant. Whether the new variants will be offered with dual-tone colour options remains to be seen.
Speaking about the powertrain, the Harrier features a 2.0-litre ‘Kryotec' diesel engine. It produces 168bhp and 350Nm and comes mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with an optional six-speed automatic.
The SUV features projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a blacked-out front grille; among others. It also features an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, 7-inch colour MID, climate control and a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system.
The safety net on the SUV includes six-airbags ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, reverse parking camera, electronic stability control, and traction control. The Harrier also features hill start assist, seat-belt reminders, high-speed warning, and hill-descent control.
Thoughts About The Tata Harrier To Receiving Two New Variants XTA & XT+ Soon
Tata Motors has decided to introduce two new variants one for each gearbox options on the Harrier SUV. The company could be looking at filling the price difference between some of the variant of the SUV. Also, it will provide extra flexibility for customers to choose what features they want with the SUV.
