Tata Harrier Dark BS6 Special Edition SUV Started To Arrive At Dealerships
The Tata Harrier Dark edition started to arrive at dealerships across the country. The special edition of the SUV has been carried forward to make it BS6-compliant. The Harrier Dark has also seen an increase in its pricing because of achieving BS6 compliance.
The images from Gaadiwaadi reveals the Tata Harrier Dark BS6 models showcased at one of the dealerships in the country. The Harrier Dark is currently offered in four variants: XZ, XZ Plus, XZA and XZA Plus. The manual variant of the Harrier Dark retails at a starting price of Rs 17.7 lakh, while the automatic variant retails at Rs 19.0 lakh. The top-spec trim XZA Plus costs Rs 20.25 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).
The Harrier Dark edition features a host of changes inside and out over the standard model. It features an all-black paint scheme called ‘Atlas Black', 17-inch Blackstone alloy wheels, blacked-out scuff plates at both ends, dark-toned tail lamps, and shark fin antenna; among others.
On the inside, it features a blacked-out cabin, Benecke Kaliko leather seat upholstery with contrast grey stitching, and Blackstone grey dashboard. All the chrome trims from the standard Harrier variants are finished in a new gunmetal grey chrome pack, that adds to the contrasting looks of the all-black interiors.
Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the Tata Harrier dark edition continues to borrow other features from the standard models. This includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, 7-inch colour MID, climate control and a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system.
Other safety features include six-airbags ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, reverse parking camera, electronic stability control, and traction control. The Harrier also features hill start assist, seat-belt reminders, high-speed warning, and hill-descent control.
The Tata Harrier dark edition remains unchanged mechanically. It continues to feature the same BS-VI spec 2.0-litre ‘kryotec' diesel engine. It produces 168bhp and 350Nm, and comes mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, with an optional six-speed automatic.
In related news, Tata Motors is preparing to launch an all-new seven-seater SUV in the Indian market. Called the Gravitas, is a three-row version of the standard Harrier SUV. The company had showcased the Gravitas at the 2020 Auto Expo revealing the changes made to the extended-SUV. The SUV was recently stopped testing on the streets of India — here are more details.
