Tata Altroz XT Variant New Feature Update: Prices Remain Unchanged
Tata Motors has silently upgraded its Altroz premium hatchback in XT variant. The company has added new features to make the mid-spec trim even more attractive to the buyers. However, the company has not increased the prices of the variant with the new update.
The Altroz XT variant now features a fully automatic climate control system, which can now be controlled via voice commands as well. The particular feature was only available in the top-spec trims of the hatchback, XZ and XZ (O).
The Altroz petrol and diesel models of the XT variant retail at Rs 6.84 lakh and Rs 8.44 lakh, respectively. While the top-spec XZ (O) retails at Rs 7.69 lakh (petrol) and Rs 9.29 lakh (diesel). This is Rs 85,000 more expensive than the recently updated XT variant. All prices mentioned here are ex-showroom (India).
Being a mid-spec trim the XT variant does miss out on a couple of features and cosmetic bits inside and out. This includes diamond-cut alloy wheels, projector headlamps, a rear wash and wipe, height-adjustable driver seat, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting and full-fabric seat upholstery; among others.
Apart from some of the nice-to-have features, the XT variant is decently equipped with essentials and a couple of convenience features as well. This includes the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, premium audio system, climate control, cruise control, a multi-info display, a push-button for start/stop, cornering headlamps, and 16-inch steel rims with wheel caps.
In terms of safety front, the XT variant only misses out on the height-adjustable front seatbelts. Rest of the features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors with a camera.
The Altroz is offered with two other engine options: the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit that puts out 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a standard five-speed manual transmission. As is, the automatic transmission is unavailable.
The Tata Altroz is the company's first offering in the premium hatchback segment in the country. It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Hyundai Elite i20, the Toyota Glanza, the Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz in the Indian market. Speaking of which, the company has released a new advert comparing the Altroz to its rivals — here are more details.
Thoughts About The Tata Altroz XT Variant New Feature Update
Tata Motors has decided to improve its offering on the mid-spec XT variant of the Tata Altroz hatchback. Although the XT variant misses out on a couple of creature comfort features, we noticed that it does come packed with many essential and functional features.
