Owner Crashes New Kia Carnival Into Wall During Delivery
In a video that surfaced recently, an owner of a brand new Kia Carnival crashed his car into a wall while in the process of collecting his Carnival from the dealership.
The video uploaded by BMC HD Videos on YouTube shows a showroom employee explaining basic functionality of the Carnival to the owner while the latter is at the wheel. The owner of the vehicle then appears to have stepped on the accelerator before crashing the Carnival.
The video goes on to show the vehicle crash into the wall of the premises. The driver appears to increase acceleration as the vehicle approaches the wall, as one can tell from the front wheel spin during impact.
The video also shows that the impact was hard enough for the airbags to deploy. Thankfully no one was injured in the process, including the motorcycle that was parked close by.
The showroom was quick to react and dispatched the damaged Kia Carnival to the dealership owned workshop for repairs that are expected to be on the expensive side.
The new Carnival's bonnet, the bumper, and the side panels have taken maximum damage. In addition, coolant or water from the wiper water reservoir appears to have leaked. Add to that other parts that have been damaged by the accident, and parts that need to be replaced on the inside.
The owner will have to wait for a while before he can enjoy his new car. However the scar of crashing a brand new car that costs between Rs 24.95 lakh and Rs 33.95 lakh (ex-showroom) will linger around for the foreseeable future.
Thoughts About An Owner Crashing A Kia Carnival While In The Process Of Taking Delivery
We think the owner of this Kia Carnival has never driven an automatic. The first thing one usually does is hit the brakes when driving an automatic transmission. Someone who isn't used to it looks for the clutch. That's what we think happened here. While we understand the excitement of experiencing taking delivery of a new car, one must always be aware of a situation and of one's surroundings.
