Nissan Removed The Micra And Sunny From Its India Website
Nissan has recently discontinued the Micra and the Sunny in India. The Micra, Micra Active and the Sunny have been removed from the company's official website. The only two cars remaining on the website are the upcoming BS6 Kicks and the Nissan GT-R.
Mechanically, the Micra was powered by a 1.2-litre, petrol engine that churned out 76bhp of power and 104Nm of peak torque and the engine was mated to a CVT gearbox. The Micra Active had a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produced 67bhp of power and 104Nm and was paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. There was a 1.5-litre oil burner also available with the Micra which produced 63bhp of power and 160Nm of torque and came paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
On the other hand, the Nissan Sunny was powered by a 1.5-litre, petrol engine that produced 98bhp of power and 134Nm of torque and was mated to a CVT. There was also a 1.5-litre diesel engine on offer as well, and that produced 85bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque. The oil burner was mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In other related Nissan news, the company has officially revealed the Kicks BS6 in the Indian market. The upcoming SUV will be getting a host of upgrades over the previous-gen BS4 models and will be offered in four variants - the XL, the XV, the XV Premium and the XV Premium (O).
Nissan has not updated the k9k diesel engine to meet the BS6 emission standards, so the SUV will be offered with two petrol engine options. One will be a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 154bhp of power and 254Nm of torque. On the other hand, the company will also offer the car with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 105bhp of power and 142Nm of peak torque.
Both engines will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the turbo-petrol engine will be offered with an optional eight-speed CVT automatic transmission and also features such as Vehicle Stability Management, traction control and more.
Thoughts On Nissan Removing The Micra And The Sunny From Their India Website
Nissan may have removed the Micra and the Sunny from its official website, but it's not been discontinued. We might see BS6 variants of the cars in the near future.
