Both the manufacturers are expected to equip their upcoming compact-SUVs with all the latest features and technology. These include LED headlamps, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, faux skid plates and bold shoulder lines to provide a muscular look to the car.
On the inside, The Kiger and Magnite are expected to come equipped with the company's latest smartphone-connected technology paired with a touchscreen infotainment system. The Renault and Nissan models will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine codenamed HR10. It is expected to produce a maximum power output of around 95bhp. The transmission options would include a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT automatic.
The Nissan Magnite is scheduled to go on sale in May 2020, while the Renault Kiger will follow in July 2020. Once launched, apart from having each other as rivals the Renault and Nissan models will be accompanied by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Hyundai Venue, the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport in the compact SUV segment In India.
We expect both the upcoming model to be priced aggressively by the company. Featuring a low price tag and premium features such as sunroof will help both models to take on the established rivals in the segment.
