2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Teased Ahead Of Launch On July 14: Here Are All Details
Hyundai India is gearing up to launch its flagship model for the market, the Tucson facelift SUV. Ahead of its arrival, the automaker has released a new teaser video which reveals the SUV to be next in line for the launch.
The teaser video also reveals the date and time for the launch event that will happen digitally due to the ongoing crisis. The Covid-19 pandemic has started a revolution in digital communication with most of the product launches happening on a digital platform.
The Tucson facelift SUV will be launched on July 14, 2020, in the country and is expected to go on sale soon after. The facelift models have started to arrive at dealerships ahead of the launch as well.
The updated SUV was first introduced at the 2020 Auto Expo revealing some of the changes that are made. It features a new cascading grille with reshaped headlights, tail-lights, and front and rear bumpers. However, Tucson's overall silhouette has remained unchanged. The new changes make the SUV look more aggressive than the previous model.
Moving to the changes made on the inside, it receives a new dashboard design with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the brand's ‘BlueLink' connected-car technology.
It will come with enhanced AI-assisted voice commands as well. Some of the other features include wireless chargers, a panoramic sunroof, and electric front-passenger seat adjustment. The SUV also features three driving modes: Eco, Smart, and Pro.
The safety equipment on the SUV includes front parking sensors, hill descent control, hill assist, puddle lamps as standard, cornering lamps, a powered tailgate, electric parking brake, and a host of other features depending on the trim level.
Hyundai is offering the Tucson with a couple of BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit produces 149bhp and 192Nm of torque, and comes mated to a six-speed torque converter unit.
On the other hand, the turbo-diesel engine churns out 181bhp and 400Nm of torque and comes paired to an all-new eight-speed torque converter unit, with power being sent to all four wheels. Both engines are not being offered with any manual transmission even as an option.
The BS4 versions of the SUV retailed between 19.0 lakh and 27.0 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). We expect Hyundai to increase the prices when they launch the BS6 model as compared to its BS4 counterparts due to the updates.
Thoughts About The 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Teased Ahead Of Launch
The Hyundai Tucson is currently the brand's flagship model that has been on sale for a long time. The company is giving the SUV the much needed mid-cycle facelift to help compete against its rivals in the market. Once launched, the Hyundai Tucson will rival the Jeep Compass, the Honda CR-V, the Skoda Karoq and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross; among others in the Indian market.
