New Hyundai Creta India Launch Date Confirmed: Here Are All The Details Ahead Of Its Launch
Hyundai India unveiled its all-new Creta SUV at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2020. The new second-generation Hyundai Creta comes with a completely revamped design and according to Rushlane is said to go on sale in the Indian market on the 17th of March 2020.
Bookings for the new Creta SUV are said to officially begin soon. However, certain Hyundai dealerships in various cities have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the SUV, for a token amount of Rs 15,000. Deliveries for the 2020 Hyundai Creta is said to start from the time of launch.
The new Hyundai Creta as mentioned before comes with a completely revamped design. The new mid-size SUV takes its design inspiration from the ix25 model, first showcased at the 2019 Beijing Motor Show. The new Creta carries forward the latest design language of the South Korean carmaker.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta now features a larger cascading grille, in line with the new design language of the brand. The SUV also comes with C-shaped LED DRLs surrounding the main LED projector headlamps flanking either side of the front grille, while the fog lamps and the central air intake are positioned further below on the newly-designed bumpers.
The side and rear profile have also changed on the new Creta. It now comes with sharper creases all around, especially around the wheel arches; making it look more muscular and sporty than before. The rear also comes with a major update, with the taillights receiving a similar design as the headlamp units. There is also a thin LED strip at the centre of the boot-lid.
In terms of engine options, the new Hyundai Creta will be borrowing the motors from its cousin, the Kia Seltos. The new Creta will receive the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine units producing 115hp and 144Nm and 250Nm of torque, respectively. There will also be a 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol unit producing 140bhp and 242Nm of torque on offer as well.
All three engines will be mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai will also offer a choice of three automatic transmission options for the new Creta: CVT, torque converter and seven-speed DCT, depending on the engine option and variants chosen.
Thoughts On The 2020 Hyundai Creta India Launch
The 2020 Hyundai Creta has been one of the most-awaited models from the brand in the Indian market. The Creta is an extremely popular SUV in the market-leading the mid-size SUV segment until the arrival of the Kia Seltos. However, with the launch of the 2020 Creta model, Hyundai hopes to regain its position as the segment leader.
