Honda Cars India recently launched the all-new City sedan in the Indian market, with a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh for the base and Rs 14.65 lakh for the top-end variant, all prices are ex-showroom (India). The all-new City is available in three variants: V, VX & ZX. Honda was supposed to launch the fifth-generation City earlier this year, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the launch had to be postponed.

However, according to a recent report by The Economic Times, the all-new fifth-generation Honda City will be exported from India to countries where Honda Cars India has never shipped vehicles before. Moreover, this will also include left-hand drive markets such as West Asia. The company will start the shipments of the new City by the end of this year. Honda Cars India plans to sell close to 90000 units, which will also include exports, during FY 20-21.

At the front, the all-new City gets 9 LED array headlamps with integrated LED dynamic turn signals, LED fog lamps and auto-folding ORVMs. However, on the inside, the car gets perforated leather upholstery, wooden accents, one-touch up and down anti-pinch power windows, remotely operated sunroof.

The new fifth-generation Honda City is slightly longer, wider and lower than the previous generation sedan. It also features bold character lines and creases running the full length of the car, from the headlight to the taillight and also gets 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that look amazing. Safety features include handling assist, hill start, a total of six i-SRS airbags, vehicle stability assist, a (TPMS) Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, six airbags and ABS with EBD.

Under the hood, the 2020 Honda City gets a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC (DOHC) produces 120bhp of power and 145Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit churns out 100bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are coupled to a standard six-speed manual gearbox. However, there is an optional seven-speed CVT automatic transmission offered with the petrol trim only.
