Maruti Suzuki Dzire Facelift (2020) Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 5.89 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has launched the Dzire facelift (2020) in the Indian market. The new Dzire facelift model is offered at a starting price of Rs 5.89 lakh for the manual variant and Rs 7.31 lakh for the (AGS) automatic variant. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (Delhi).
The new Maruti Dzire will be offered in four trim levels: Lxi, Vxi, Zxi, and Zxi+. However, the entry-level Lxi trim is not offered with the (AGS) AMT transmission. The Dzire manual top-spec Zxi+ manual and automatic variants retail at Rs 8.28 lakh and Rs 8.80 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi), respectively.
The 2020 Dzire features a host of updates. These include a new front fascia with new LED projector headlamps, a new front grille and a reworked bumper design. It features new 15-inch precision cut alloy wheels on the top-spec trims as well.
On the inside, the new Dzire has been updated with a host of new features including a new faux-wood trim with gloss finish on the dashboard. It also features new upholstery called ‘Champagne', a new dual-tone steering wheel finished in wood and leather with mounted cruise controls, a new instrument cluster with Multi-Information Display (MID), and it features the company's latest Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2020 model also features updated safety equipment. These include (eSP) electronic stability program and Hill-hold assist offered as standard with all automatic variants. Apart from these updates, all other features and equipment are carried over from the older model.
Speaking at the launch, Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,"With over 55% market share in its segment, the Dzire is the preferred sedan of over 20 lakh customers. Building on overwhelming customer response, the 2020 Dzire offers the next-generation K-series engine with segment-first idle start-stop technology (ISS), and upgraded premium exterior design, refreshed interiors, and advanced features. As a company, we have believed in bringing technologies that benefit the customers."
He further added, "The 2020 Dzire will help us to continue with our brand promise to offer products with state-of-the-art design & advanced technology to delight our customers. The introduction of the advanced K-series Dual Jet, the Dual VVT BS6 petrol engine with idle start-stop function makes it more desirable, low on emissions and high on fuel efficiency."
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is powered by a next-gen K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVTBS6 engine. The 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine produces 81bhp and a peak torque of 133Nm. The engine comes paired to a five-speed manual gearbox with an optional five-speed (AGS) automatic transmission offered on the higher variants. The engine also features an idle stop-start system for increased fuel-efficiency. Maruti claims the Dzire returns a mileage of 23.26km/l in the manual variants and 24.12km/l in automatic variants.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire rivals the Honda Amaze, the Ford Aspire and the recently launched Hyundai Aura. The company has updated the new Dzire with latest features and technology, and we expect the compact-sedan to remain the segment-leader for the foreseeable future.
