The Maruti Suzuki Gypsy is an iconic vehicle. Commercially, the Gypsy has been discontinued for almost two years now, but the company still keeps on supplying the army with Gypsy. The Indian army has been using the Gypsy because of its all-round utility and reliability.

As per the images snapped by Rushlane, the company has recently supplied 718 units of the Gypsy to the Indian Army. Mechanically, the vehicle is powered by a BS4 compliant 1.3-litre petrol engine. The unit produces 80bhp of power and 103Nm of peak torque. The car comes with a four-wheel-drive setup as standard along with a low-range gearbox.

In other recent Maruti Suzuki news, the company has recently announced a Monsoon Campaign program for customers across the country. The Company is offering a complimentary monsoon-ready vehicle health check under this initiative. The company has mentioned that under this program, the vehicles will be inspected by trained and expert service technicians on a predefined checklist to ensure trouble-free performance during the rainy season.

However, the main objective of organizing this campaign is to ensure the optimal performance of the vehicles, which is very important during the monsoon season. Customers can avail the benefits of the campaign until July 31, 2020. Maruti Suzuki will ensure that the wiper blades, brake pads, rust smash, brake-fluid, AC evaporator cleaner and rain repellant, among others, are checked and replace certain parts that are damaged. Maruti Suzuki requests the customers to use only Maruti Suzuki Genuine Parts and Accessories as it will keep the vehicles in good health.

The company also launched the S-CNG variant of its Celerio hatchback in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 5.61 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). Only the two mid-spec variants, VXi and VXi(O) will be offered with the CNG on the Celerio hatchback.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG version also uses the same 1.0-litre BS6-compliant engine. The CNG-powered unit produces 58bhp and 79Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox.
