2020 Maruti Suzuki Celerio X BS6 Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 4.90 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the BS6-compliant version of the Celerio X hatchback in the Indian market. The new Maruti Celerio X BS6 hatchback is offered with a starting price of Rs 4.90 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio X BS6 comes in a range of four trims: VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi (O). Prices of all variants have witnessed an increase of Rs 15,000, with the top-spec model being priced at Rs 5.67 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Visually, the 2020 Maruti Celerio X carries forward the same design with little to no changes being made. The Celerio X is the more funkier-looking version of the hatchback, introduced to attract a younger audience. The Maruti Celerio X comes with bright colours, slightly more rugged look and a large contrasting ‘X' shaped design on the front bumper.
The sporty theme is carried forward to the side and rear profile as well. The Celerio X receives body claddings all around, with the higher-spec variants also featuring a blacked-out alloy wheel design. The hatchback also comes with contrasting roof rails, adding to the rugged look of the hatchback.
The Maruti Celerio X is powered by the same 1.0-litre K-series engine, which also powers the S-Presso and the Alto K10. The three-cylinder engine produces 68bhp and 90Nm of torque and is mated either to a five-speed gearbox or the optional AMT automatic transmission.
Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the Maruti Celerio X Bs6 remains otherwise identical to the BS4 model. It carries forward all the same features and equipment from the previous version.
This includes the blacked-out cabin with steering-mounted controls, MID on the instrument cluster, dual airbags, seat-belt pretensioner, ABS with EBD, high-speed warning and pedestrian protection; among others.
Thoughts On The Maruti Celerio X BS6 India Launch
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X is a much funkier and sporty-looking version of the standard Celerio hatchback in the Indian market. The Celerio X was introduced to attract a younger customer base, looking to purchase their first car. The Maruti Celerio X rivals the likes of the Tata Tiago NRG in the Indian market.
