According to Express Drives, Dr Partha Datta, the President and Managing Director at Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles India revealed the brand's plan for the Indian subcontinent.
Jeep is planning to launch a seven-seater SUV in the country within the next couple of years. Codenamed the Low D 3-Row, the seven-seater is likely to be called the Grand Compass.
The vehicle will be based on the upcoming Jeep Compass facelift, and Dr Datta confirmed that the SUV will be launched between April and June 2021.
Jeep also has plans of entering the very lucrative but highly competitive sub-4 meter segment that is currently dominated by the Maruti Brezza, the Hyundai Venue, and the Kia Seltos.
The Managing Director also confirmed that the brand will launch iconic Jeep models in the country, but did not specify what models and variants would be available.

There is a possibility that all the vehicles Jeep launches in the country will be manufactured at the brand's Ranjangaon facility in order to keep pricing as competitive as possible.
Manufacturing in India will bring a major level of localisation that will help the company reduce costs, and offer a more feature rich car as compared to the competition across segments.
The company recently upgraded its Compass range of SUVs to meet BS6 compliance, and offers the vehicle with petrol and diesel engines.
In Jeep related news, the brand recently recalled its Wrangler Unlimited models in the country over a possible safety issue that results in a no-start and/ or stall conditions.
Fifty-three units of the Wrangler Unlimited models manufactured between March 2019 and January 2020 are said to be affected. To know more, click here.
