Hyundai Santro BS6 Prices Revealed Ahead Of Launch: Prices Increased By Upto Rs 27,000
Hyundai is all set to introduce the BS6-compliant Santro hatchback in the Indian market. Ahead of its launch in the Indian market, prices for the BS6 Santro have been leaked online.
According to Carwale, prices for the new BS6-compliant Hyundai Santro will start from Rs 4.57 lakh for the base-spec model. The top-spec variant, on the other hand, will be offered with a price tag of Rs 6.25 lakh. This translates to a price hike ranging between Rs 22,000 to Rs 27,000 depending on the variant.
Reports also suggest that the prices for the CNG variant, however, will remain unchanged. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
The new Hyundai Santro features a new design language with the signature tall-boy stance. At the front, the car gets a cascading grille with chrome surrounds, sweptback headlamps, fog lamps, black plastic treatment around the grille and fog lamps and a newly designed bumper.
At the rear, the Santro gets a large windshield, new tail light cluster, high stop lamp, newly designed bumper with plastic inserts and reflectors on either side. On the inside, it features a dual-tone theme with black and beige treatment on the dashboard and door trims, silver inserts around the AC vents, gear lever and on the steering wheel. The features and safety kit on the model are expected to remain the same as compared to the BS4 counterparts.
Other features of the car are a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear AC vents, steering-mounted audio controls, USB port, MID on the instrument cluster, folding rear seats, power windows and rear wiper with washer.
Mechanically, the car has not been tweaked. It draws power from a 1.1-litre petrol engine that produces 68bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 99Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard or an optional AMT gearbox. Moreover, the AMT gearbox works flawlessly and the gear shifts are smooth. On the other hand, the CNG variant of the Santro uses the same engine and puts outs 58bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 84Nm of torque at 4,500rpm.
Thoughts On The BS6 Hyundai Santro
Since pollution is one of the major concerns, all the car manufacturers are strictly following the BS6 regulations. And now Hyundai has stepped up the game by making the Santro BS6 comparable at a very reasonable increase in its price.
