Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Receives A price Hike Across All Variants
Earlier this year, Hyundai introduced the Turbo GDi variant with the Grand i10 Nios. The Grand i10 Nios is available in two variants Sportz and Sportz Dual Tone trims for a price of Rs 7,68,050 and Rs 7,73,350 respectively. However, now the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo GDi costs Rs 7,70,050 for the Sportz trim (all prices are ex-showroom). The Sportz Dual Tone trim is not listed on the company website, which means it's likely to be discontinued.
Mechanically the Grand i10 Nios petrol is powered by a 998cc three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit producing 100bhp at 6000rpm and 172Nm of torque between 1500 - 4000rpm. The engine is mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox.
On the other hand, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS diesel BS6 model is powered by the same 1.2-litre diesel engine updated to meet the new emission standards. The engine produces 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. The engine continues to come mated to the same five-speed manual or AMT transmission options as well.
A few months back, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was also launched in CNG variants (Magna and Sportz trims) at a price of Rs 6,62,610 and Rs 7,16,350 respectively. After the price hike, the CNG variant in the same trims costs Rs 6,64,610 and Rs 7,18,350 respectively. All the prices mentioned above are ex-showroom.
The CNG variants of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS carry forward all the features and equipment offered on its conventional fuel-powered models. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, projector headlamps, keyless entry and steering-mounted audio controls; among a host of others.
However, the CNG variant does miss out on a few features like a cooled glove compartments, rear adjustable headrests and rear washer and wiper. The hatchback does, however, comes standard with all the safety equipment such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, high-speed warning, seat-belt reminder; among others.
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG model comes powered by the BS6-compliant 1.2-litre Kappa engine. It produces 66bhp and 95Nm of peak torque. The CNG-powered engine comes mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox, without any automatic transmission options.
Thoughts About The Price Hike For The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Models
The Hyundai Grand i10 is a good-looking hatchback in the Indian market, brought in fairly recently in late-2019. We expect that a slight price hike will not affect the sales of the car that much. The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS continues to rival the likes of the Ford Figo, Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Swift in the Indian market.
