2020 Hyundai Creta SUV Launched In India At Rs 9.99 Lakh: The King Is Back In A Brand-New Avatar!

Hyundai already started accepting bookings for the new Creta from the start of the month. The company has confirmed that bookings for the new Creta have already crossed over 14,000 units, with more than 50% of them coming from the diesel-powered variants. Deliveries for the new Hyundai Creta is said to start anytime soon.

The all-new Hyundai Creta comes with a completely new set of engines. Hyundai has discontinued its 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre units from the old models entirely. These engines have been replaced with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units from its cousin, the Kia Seltos.

The new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines on the new Hyundai Creta, churn out the same 115bhp and 144Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively. Hyundai will also be offering the 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit on the higher-spec variants. This 1.4-litre T-GDI unit also produces the same 140bhp on the Creta as it does on the Kia Seltos.

All three engines will come mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox. While the three engines will also be offered with separate automatic transmission options as well. This includes a six-speed CVT with the 1.5-litre petrol, a torque-converter for the 1.5-litre diesel and a seven-speed DCT on the 1.4-litre petrol units.

The all-new Hyundai Creta comes with a completely refreshed design, both on the exterior and interiors of the SUV. Starting from the exterior, the new Creta features the brand's latest cascading grille at the front, surrounded by a newly designed set of LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The front bumper has also been updated and features LED fog lamps and a central air intake with faux silver scuff plates at the bottom.

The sides of the SUV features sharp character lines, creases and window line. There is also a strip of chrome running above the door line, ending at the C-pillar. The new Hyundai Creta also comes with larger wheel arches, housing a set of newly-designed dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear profile of the SUV also carries forward a new set of LED taillights, brake lights on the boot-lid and a newly-designed bumper and reflectors as well.

Moving to the interiors, the new Hyundai Creta features a newly designed cabin and dashboard layout. The SUV comes with a completely new steering wheel with mounted controls. There is also a new seven-inch digital instrument cluster, offering a host of information as well.

The new Hyundai Creta also comes with a large 10.25-inch horizontally-positioned touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard. This features a host of functionalities, including Hyundai's latest Blue-Link connectivity technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other features on the all-new Hyundai Creta include wireless charging, ventilated front seats, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, tyres pressure monitoring system, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, paddle shifters, electric parking brake, rear parking camera & sensors, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, electronic stability control; among a host of others.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is offered with a choice of 10 paint schemes. This includes seven single-tone colours and three dual-tone options.

The Hyundai Creta has long been among the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market. The next-generation model has already seemed to prove this with over 14,000 bookings ahead of launch. Kia Seltos now seems to have a tough competitor for the segment leader crown, which it snatched back in August.
