Hyundai Creta Seven-Seater SUV Spied Testing In India For The First Time: To Rival The Tata Gravitas
Hyundai has been working on a seven-seater version of its popular Creta SUV for the Indian market for a while now. The seven-seater Hyundai Creta is said to be introduced in the Indian market sometime late next year.
Now, the seven-seater Hyundai Creta SUV has been spied testing in India for the first time. Spy pics of the upcoming seven-seater Hyundai Creta SUV from Team-BHP, showcase the car undergoing testing on Indian streets and comes with an extended length to help accommodate the third-row of seating.
Talking about the design, the new seven-seater Hyundai Creta is expected to feature a reworked front grille, a larger rear quarter panel, newly designed rear end, with updated bumpers, boot lid and LED tail lights as well. However, apart from this, most other elements are expected to remain similar to the standard five-seater model.
Similarly, the interiors will also feature a few changes, with the main change coming in the form of the additional third-row of seating. In terms of features, the seven-seater Creta will carry forward the same equipment as its standard SUV model, although there could be a few new additions as well.
Mechanically, the seven-seater Hyundai Creta will be identical to its five-seater sibling. The new 7-seater Creta will carry forward the same three engine options, while also having the same power and torque figures. The seven-seater Creta will carry forward the same transmission options as well.
To reiterate, the current model comes powered by 1.5-litre petrol, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engines. The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units produce 115bhp with 142Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively.
The 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol churns out 140bhp and 242Nm of peak torque. All three engines also come mated to different transmission options ranging from a six-speed manual, iVT and a seven-speed DCT.
Apart from the above changes, we also expect the seven-seater SUV to have a different nameplate as well. With a launch expected late next year, the new extended seven-seater version of the Hyundai Creta will take on rivals such as the MG Hector Plus, Tata Gravitas, 7-seater Jeep Compass and the new-gen Mahindra XUV500.
