Honda Cars India has announced a recall on a range of models over a possible fault in the fuel pump. As per the recall report, more than 65,000 cars of various models could have been affected and are being serviced.

According to the company, the cars manufactured in 2018 have been affected and are part of the recall. it will voluntarily replace the fuel pump of its 2018 manufactured models to ensure smooth working of cars.

As per the recall report, the fuel pumps installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers. This could affect the fuel supply to the engine and could result in stopping or not starting. In return can damage a host of other parts involved in the combustion process.

According to Honda more than 16,000 units of its popular sedan the City has been affected with the fuel pump issue. Here are the model-wise breakdown of affected car numbers: 32,498 units of the brand compact-sedan Amaze, 16,434 units of the City, 7,500 units of Jazz, 7,057 units of the WR-V, 1,622 units of the BR-V, 360 units of the Brio, and 180 units of the CR-V SUV have been recalled in India.

The replacement of the faulty fuel pump will be carried out free of cost at the brand's dealerships across India. The recall will be done in a phase-wise manner starting from 20 June 2020 and the owners will be contacted individually by the company.

Alternatively, customers can also check whether their cars are covered under this campaign. Honda has activated a new micro-site, which customer can visit and check their vehicle for recall. Once a customer visits the site, they will be asked to provide a 17-character alpha-numeric (VIN) Vehicle Identification Number and check if their vehicles are part of the recall.
