The new partnership extends to McLaren's Formula 1 Team and its luxury supercar outfit, Mclaren Automotive.

McLaren's Formula One cars will now feature Gulf Oil branding starting with this weekend's 2020 British Grand Prix. Gulf Oil's blue and orange colours will feature on race car drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz's race suits, and on pit crew uniforms as well.

McLaren ended its partnership with Brazil based oil giants Petrobras with the aim of reducing overall costs, effectively allowing for the deal with Gulf Oil to be inked.

The new partnership will see Gulf Oil become McLaren Automotive's preferred lubricant partner starting 2021, and the company will have all its cars filled with Gulf Oil lubricants and fuel that has been optimised for high-performance supercars.

The orange and black colours will also be showcased at all McLaren Automotive Pure Customer events that are hosted at locations across the globe, at retailers and on all team kits.

In addition, a limited number of McLaren owners will be offered the chance to have their supercars hand painted at McLaren Special Operation (the brand's customs division) in blue and orange that are inspired by the F1 GTR Le Mans car from the 1990s.

Thoughts About Gulf Oil Making A Return To Formula One

Gulf Oil and McLaren first partnered between 1968 and 1973, and enjoyed success in Formula 1 and the Can-Am series, in which the partnership won over 40 races. It will be exciting for fans to see the Gulf Oil colours return to F1 this weekend. We're definitely watching the race, just for the blue and orange!
