This video posted by 4Drive Time shows the difference between the safety of old vs new cars. First, we see that a 1992 Nissan Tsuru goes up against a 2016 Nissan Versa. Then we have a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air vs a 2009 Malibu. Then we see that there is a 1997 Rover 100 vs a 2015 Honda Jazz.

In all the above crashes, we see that the old cars do not perform well at all compared to the new vehicles. Later in that video, David Ward, Secretary-General, Global NCAP, comes in and shows us the crash difference between a 1998 Ford Fiesta and a 2018 Ford Fiesta.

Both the cars crashed at 64km/h (40 ml/h) and the results are spectacularly different. It is seen that in the old car the body shell has completely collapsed and the occupant area has caved in leading to serious injuries or a fatal accident for the occupants. On the other hand, the new Ford Feasta's body shell is intact, all the airbags have gone off perfectly and the car just suffered a crack in the Windshield. After the crash, we see that occupants will leave with minor injuries.

People have survived crashes like this and sometimes walked off without a scratch due to the good safety features. In India, manufacturers are concentrating on the safety aspect too and the Tata Nexon was the first car to get a 5-star rating at NCAP crash test.
