Toyota Innova BS6, Fortuner BS6 Bookings Open Unofficially: Launch Soon
While speculation is that the Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 and the Toyota Fortuner BS6 models will be officially open for booking starting 6 January, they will only during the second week of the month. Dealers however, are unofficially accepting bookings for an amount of Rs 50,000.
A Pune based dealer confirmed that unofficial bookings have begun. The company says that deliveries will begin closer to the end of February or early March as Toyota wants to wait until BS6 compliant fuel is available across the country.
Dealers have exhausted all their BS4 compliant stocks and are of the opinion the Fortuner and Innova models are their highest selling vehicles. Dealers are also officially accepting bookings for the Yaris BS6 model.
The Innova Crysta and Fortuner have been Toyota's best-selling models in the Indian market, and are on the pricey side. Prices are set to go up by roughly Rs 1.5 lakh thanks to the more sophisticated Selective Catalytic Reduction technology and a new Diesel Particulate Filter.
Starting April 2020, the Innova Crysta and Fortuner will be the only locally-manufactured diesel vehicles in the company's Indian portfolio. The company's Etios range of cars is being phased out, and the Yaris and Glanza models will be available only with petrol engines.
The company's super-luxury offering, the Vellfire, will also be available with only a hybrid petrol engine.
In related news, the Toyota Glanza has become the company's best selling car. The company has sold a total of 13,824 units between June and November 2019. The vehicle is available with a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Thoughts About The Official And Unofficial Bookings Opening For The Toyota Innova And The Toyota Fortuner
Both these models are extremely successful models for Toyota. One can tell simply because of the sheer volume of Innova and Fortuner SUVs that ply city and highway roads, and the fact that dealers have run out of BS4 stock.
The dealers seem to be doing what the company isn't - opening unofficial bookings for the both the high-selling SUVs. We're sure the booking volumes will be high as always, but we won't be able to tell until bookings officially begin.
