BMW & MINI Price Increase Announced In India: Effective From November

The new prices are effective from November 1, 2020, across the country. The company has decided to increase the prices of all vehicles in both brands due to increased manufacturing costs in recent times.

The Indian automotive market made its biggest shift from BS4 to BS6 emission standards back in April 2020. The new stricter emission norms have forced automakers to manufacture new devices to reduce pollutants emitted from vehicles. It has resulted in increased manufacturing cost for the brand in the Indian market.

Additionally, the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has added to the woes of the automakers. The drastic drop in GDP has resulted in increased exchange rates, which is also affecting the brand's manufacturing costs as well.

BMW Group India will increase the prices of its cars by up to 3% from November 1, 2020, because of rising costs and depreciating currency.

BMW Group a host of locally assembled cars in the Indian market. This includes the BMW 3 Series, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X7 and MINI Countryman.

The company will be adding another model to its locally assembled cars, as BMW gears up to launch the 2 Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market. It will go on sale in the country from October 8, 2020, and is expected to be offered in a single-engine option — here are all details.

Additionally, BMW Group also sells a couple of models from both brands that are brought to the country as (CBU) Completely Built-Up units. This includes the flagship BMW M8 Coupe, BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, BMW X6, BMW Z4, BMW M2 Competition, BMW M4 Coupe, and BMW M5 Competition.

On the other hand MINI's staple has the MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door, MINI Convertible, MINI Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Hatch, which arrive as CBU in India. Currently, BMW Group India has over 80 touch-points in the Indian market.
