Bajaj Qute BS6 Spotted Testing Ahead Of Launch In India: Spy Pics & Details
The Bajaj Qute BS6 CNG variant has been spied testing ahead of launch in the Indian market. The BS6 model of the quadricycle is not expected to change in terms of design or features over its BS4 counterpart.
Latest spy images from Rushlane, reveal a CNG variant of the Qute testing near the company's plant in Pune. The test mules are completely undisguised and appear to be the same on the outside.
The BS6 model will be powered an updated version of the same engine that was on the BS4 model. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 216.6cc engine produces a maximum of 13bhp at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 18.9Nm at 4000rpm. The engine comes mated to a constant mesh five-speed gearbox.
Bajaj is also offering the Qute with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode the engine produces a maximum of 10.8bhp at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 16.1Nm at 4000rpm. The Qute can reach a top speed of 70 km/h.
Rest of the features and equipment remain the same. This includes the sleek-looking headlamp and tail lamp unit. 12-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out large front and rear bumpers, and a blacked-out roof with luggage rack; among others.
On the inside, the BS6 model is expected to remain the same as its BS4 counterparts. This includes seating for three passengers plus the driver, a centrally-mounted instrument cluster and gear lever, and a basic audio system.
The dimension of the Qute read as 2752mm in length, 1312mm in width, 1652mm in height, and a wheelbase of 1925mm. The quadricycle features a turning radius of 3.5m, which is excellent for navigating inside the busy city streets. The Qute also features storage space in the front under the bonnet.
The Bajaj Qute is also being exported to various countries across the globe. According to the company, the Qute has been well-received in Turkey and has established itself in the country. As a result, the company plans to rapidly to expand sales of the quadricycle to other countries across the world including Sri Lanka.
The Bajaj Qute BS4 petrol model retailed at Rs 2.48 lakh, while the factory-fitted CNG variant was priced at Rs 2.78 lakh. With an updated and cleaner engine, the Qute BS6 variants are expected to receive a marginal price hike over the BS4 variants.
