Tata Harrier Features Apple CarPlay — Tata’s First Official Update
The Tata Harrier was the most awaited SUV launches of 2019. Tata Motors priced the Harrier just right, and it offers fantastic value for money, inspite of missing out on an automatic transmission and a key feature.
According to AutoCarIndia, Tata has now given the Harrier it's first official update. The mid-spec variant called the Harrier XT and the top-spec Harrier XZ now feature touchscreen infotainment systems that are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible. The software update will happen at dealer levels across the country.
There are no other change to the rest of vehicle. The Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 138bhp of power @ 3,750rpm, and 350Nm or torque @1,750rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Tata Harrier features independent, lower wishbone MacPherson Struts with coil spring suspension in the front, and semi independent twist blades with panhard rods and coil spring suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear.
The Harrier XT features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the Harrier XZ features an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Tata Harrier XT is priced at Rs 14.96 lakh, ex-showroom (India), and the Harrier XZ model is priced at Rs 16.3 lakh, ex-showroom, India.
Tata recently showcased the seven-seat variant of the Harrier at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The seven-seat variant of the Harrier is set to become their flagship SUV and is expected to launch in India soon. It was showcased as the Tata Buzzard.
Two more cars that Tata has added to it's fleet are the Altroz and the Blackbird. While the Altroz is scheduled for an October 2019 launch, the Blackbird may launch some time early next year.
Thoughts About The Software Update On The Tata Harrier XT And XZ
Well, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have already become and are expected as a standard by customers. Good move by Tata Motors. It shows the company cares about what customers think and want. Also very smart to offer the upgrade as soon as they did.
