Tata Harrier All-Black Edition Coming Soon — Details And All You Need To Know
Tata Motors is one of the few manufacturers that keeps updating and upgrading the very successful Harrier SUV. The company tries to implement almost all customer feedback, and in an attempt to stay in the game, they're ready to launch an all-black edition of the Harrier.
The Tata Harrier Black Edition is scheduled to launch next month. This will mark a second update, the first being dual-tone exterior colour options. Tata Motors added the dual-tone options after they hit the 10,000 units in sales mark recently. Again, this was implemented after customer feedback.
Black is a great addition for any SUV. It makes an attractive looking SUV more attractive, and adds a certain aggression if you will. In addition to the all-black shade, other changes made to the Tata Harrier include blacked out 17-inch alloy wheels, and blacked out skid plates at the front and rear.
Contrasting elements are chrome window sills and badging at the front and the rear. The interiors of the Tata Harrier feature an all-black theme as well. The brown coloured upholstery on the seats and door pads have been replaced with black. The faux wood panel on the dashboard has been replaced with a more easy looking dark grey one.
With the addition of the all-black, the Tata Harrier is now available in a total of six colour options - Atlas Black, Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Orcus White, Telesto Grey and Ariel Silver.
There are no mechanical changes made to the Tata Harrier. That said, the company is working on a more powerful version of the SUV. The 2.0-litre Kryotec engine that is featured in the Harrier will be upgraded to meet BS-VI norms. The new engine is expected to deliver 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.
The Harrier is also expected to feature a Hyundai-sourced sex-speed automatic transmission unit which will add to the value for money appeal. The company is also working on an all-wheel drive variant, although there is no information about when this will launch.
Tata Motors is also working on a seven-seater variant of the Harrier. The vehicle was showcased as the Tata Buzzard at the Geneva Motor Show earlier, and has been spied on during tests.
The Tata Harrier is currently priced between from Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The SUV competes against the MG Hector, the Mahindra XUV500, the Jeep Compass, the Hyundai Creta, and will also fight the upcoming Kia Seltos.

Thoughts About The Tata Harrier All-Black Edition
Like we said earlier, black adds more oomph to any vehicle, especially SUVs. We must say we are happy that Tata is launching an all-black edition of the Harrier. There is a lot of colour in the market at the moment and an old school black will definitely add more numbers to sales.
