Tata Motors TVC For Altroz, Altroz EV & Buzzard SUV Out

Indian automaker Tata Motors has launched the first ever TVC for the Altroz, Altroz EV and Buzzard SUV that were unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on the 5th of March. The TVC shows off the three cars that were revealed at Geneva alongside the H2X concept.

The TVC for the new Altroz, Altroz EV and Buzzard shows off all three cars being driven around what appear to be a few locations in Europe, (considering the fact the Right-Hand-Drive models are shown, this could very well be the United Kingdom).

The Altroz, Altroz EV and Buzzard are all expected to make their way onto Indian roads soon, with the fossil-fuel powered premium hatchback likely to arrive first. The Altroz is expected to draw power from the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Nexon compact SUV.

The turbo-petrol engine cranks out 108bhp @ 5,000rpm and 170Nm @ 1,750rpm and sends power to the front wheels via either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an automated manual transmission (AMT). While the Altroz was expected to feature a diesel powerplant, a recent report suggests that Tata could ditch the 1.5-litre Nexon engine due to issues with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms.

The Tata Buzzard, which is also shown in the TVC is the 7-seater version of the Harrier. While the wheelbase of the Harrier has remained the same, Tata Motors has lengthened the Harrier to create the 7-seater Buzzard. The Buzzard is 62mm longer than the Harrier and is also a fair bit taller as well. The Buzzard will be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine as the Harrier, though it is expected to be in a higher state of tune, cranking out around 170hp under the bonnet of the new SUV.
