State-Wise Car Sales Report In India For FY2019 — Maharashtra Leads The Way With The Highest Sales
The auto industry in the country is currently on the backfoot at the moment, with low car sales due to various external factors. However, the automotive brands in the country are hopeful that sales will bounce back closer to the upcoming festive season in India.
The car sales report for the month of June 2019, showcased many big brands recorded declining sales in the Indian market. This includes the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Toyota — here is the sales report of some of the major brands in the country for the month of June 2019.

The state-wise car sales report from AutoPunditz for the FY2019 in India showcases Maharashtra leading the way in terms of number of cars sold. The FY19 saw the state recording sales of 3,54,480 units; accounting to over 10 per cent of the overall India sales.
UP and Gujarat followed closely, recording 2,99,816 units and 2,84,763 units of car sales, respectively to take up second and third position in the charts. Both of them accounted to over 8 per cent of the overall India sales individually.
Moving to the south, Kerala with 2,52,639 units and Karnataka with 2,27,300 units, ranked the highest. Both of them contributing to around 7 per cent of the all-India sales. Tamil Nadu also followed closely, taking up the sixth position with 2,19,628 units of sales; and 6.5 per cent contribution to the overall sales figures of the country.
The bottom four in the top-10 state list consisted of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in the mentioned order. The top-10 states in the list alone contributed to 69 per cent of the overall India car sales during the FY2019.

The bottom half of the list showcases states like Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar coming in last with sales ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 units.
Considering each zones in the country, Maharashtra took the top-slot for the West-Zone; Kerala for the South-Zone; Uttar Pradesh for North-Zone and West-Bengal for the East-Zone. With all states put together, the overall Car sales report for the country during the FY2019 stood at 33,72,231 units.

The state-wise car sales report in India for the FY2019 showcases Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat topping the charts, closely followed by Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. With sales already on the decline from the start of FY2020 and the festive season coming soon, it will be interesting to see how these number changes this fiscal year.
